Student Check Out Procedure

Parents must come to the school office to take their child out of class for any reason during the school day. Please do not call and ask that your child meet you outside. We do this for the safety of your children and hope you will understand and cooperate with us in this regard. Students will be called from class after a parent or a designated adult has signed the checkout log. If an older sibling is to check out a student, please call and let us know who is coming and that you grant your permission to that person to accompany the student from school.

Tardies

Tardies are disruptive to the classroom and also have an adverse effect on your child's educational process. The first 10 minutes of instruction is as important as the second 10 minutes. A note from the parent is required for students coming to school late. Students with repeated tardies will be asked to make up any missed work. Please help us by making sure your child arrives at school on time.

Student Loading/Unloading

To help ensure the safety of each child, do not enter or park in the bus loading and unloading zone. This bus zone is clearly marked and is in the front of the building. Students should be dropped off or picked up a the pull through area on the north end of the building.

Dress Code

What a child wears to school influences his or her behavior and may influence the behavior of other students. We desire to maintain a focus on learning and respect in school. Often, dress and grooming may detract from that positive atmosphere.

Our dress code policy:

v   Clothing shall not expose the abdomen, chest or underarm area and shall be of properly fitted size as to conceal undergarments and torso at all times. Clothing such as low cut tops, bare midriffs, ill-fitting pants that are baggy or excessively large are not allowed. Sagging, fraying, and excessively long pants are prohibited. Shorts, skorts, and skirts shorter than mid thigh are also prohibited. All clothing should be clean and in good repair.

v   Safe footwear is required at all times. Students will be engaged in various activities throughout the day, including PE periods and recess. For that reason, students should wear socks and shoes that cover the toes, stay safely on the foot when running or jumping, and which do not unnecessarily restrict physical activity.

v   Distracting make-up, hair color, body ornaments, jewelry or other accessories are prohibited.

v   Adherence to these dress and grooming standards, as well as all other district dress and safe schools standards, will be the responsibility of the student and his or her parents or guardians.

v   If a student is found to be out of compliance with the dress code, parents will be notified and requested to bring proper attire to the student. If parents cannot be reached, proper clothing will be provided for the day.

v    All students will be treaded fairly and with respect.
