Class Change Policy

ONCE school begins, classes will only be changed for necessary academic reasons. CHOOSE YOUR SCHEDULE WISELY!

TIMELINE

Before school begins-- Schedule should be complete for entire year. All adjustments should be done on-line in July or with a counselor in August.

FIRST TERM- No changes the first two days of school.  Students will attend the classes they signed up for. If necessary academic changes arise, the procedure below will be followed.

TERM CHANGES   (End of 1st or 3rd term - ONLY FOR EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES. Parent must speak with counselor.)

  •       Last Three Days of the Ending Term

               Before & After School ONLY (7:15 - 7:45 a.m. and 2:15 - 2:45 p.m.)

  •       First Week of the New Term

During the Period Being Changed or Before or After School

ALL CHANGES MUST be done by the end of the first week

Making changes after that date disrupts teaching and puts students behind in curriculum.

PROCESS

Step 1: Changing the Schedule

  • Parents must be present with students or send a detailed note (unless SEOP plans are already in place).

  • No appointments will be made for class changes. Counselors will meet with students on a first-come basis before or after school or during the period in question.

  • If requesting a teacher change, parents must talk to an administrator for permission before coming to counseling.

Step 2:  Book Depository and Finance Office

  • $ 5.00 CLASS CHANGE FEE is required for all changes during the school year. Please be prepared to pay this and any other class fees at the time of the change.

  • STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE to return books, pay all fees, and turn in the signed form to the counseling office within two school days.

  • If a full-year class is being dropped in January, the student must get the teacher's signature.
