BARRATT ELEMENTARY PTA NEWSLETTER

 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thanks to you, the Book Fair was a resounding success!  Over 170 books were purchased for the classrooms.

Also, thank you for supporting our Sally Foster fundraiser-- your contributions make a huge difference in our school!

Remember: Reflections entries are due October 22nd!

Also, please read the new Principal's Message concerning State Core Testing Results.

 Going Green!

To save money and paper, we will be publishing the PTA newsletter online.  Current news will always be on this page, with previous issues linked along the side.  We want parents to be as informed as possible about school events and issues.  To this end we have also created a facebook group (search for Barratt Elementary and add yourself to the group) and an email list. (Email barrattpta@yahoo.com to join.)  We hope that these avenues will help us all to be better informed and able to participate in our childrens' educations.

Safety

Parents:  Just a reminder about safety.  A few seconds saved in the parking lot are not worth potential accidents caused by speeding or by not obeying the rules.  Please remember that students must be dropped off in either side lane-- NEVER in the middle.  Also, if you are going to park your car to wait with your child, please use one of the parking spots on the street so that others may pull through.   Also, please remind your children to use the crosswalk in front of the school to cross the street and to walk their bicycles and scooters across the street and on school property.  Let's keep ALL of our children  safe!

 Help our School!

There are some easy ways to make sure that our school takes advantage of some great programs that will give more funds to our students.  We are always collecting Box Tops-- tell your grandparents, friends and neighbors to save them.  They add up quickly!  Also, save your Macey's receipts and turn them in at the box by the office with the name of the school written on them.  This is a great revenue source for the school.  You can also link your Albertson's and Smith's cards to give rebates to the school-- every little bit helps!
