Thank you to all who have helped contribute to the strength of 137,000 PTA members statewide advocating for the welfare of Utah’s children.  Your dues help support all PTA and school activities (whether at school, home, or at your work place) that strengthen children and the family-school-community partnership.

If we have yet to receive your membership here are some other great incentives for you to join … On October 30th all PTA members will be eligible for a prize drawing which will include some of the following: A one night get-a-way to The Anniversary Inn ($200 value) compliments of Murdock Hyundai in Orem, 5 Day Passes to The Quarry in Provo ($20 value/each), $5 gift certificates to Good Woods, & Movie Passes.

What does PTA do for our school?  Many school activities are sponsored by the PTA, including:

• Take-home reading books
• Teacher appreciation week
• Health & Safety Week
• Vision screening
• Red Ribbon Week
• Reflections
• Field Day
• SEP dinners for faculty/staff
• Monthly newsletters
• Student of the Month certificates
• Spirit Days
• Walk-a-thon
• School Spelling Bee
• Some Assemblies   

In addition, in past years, PTA has:

• Provided new bike racks & playground equipment
• Purchased the marquee
• Donated new books to the library
• Created an Olympic display case
• Purchased risers for school performances
• Assisted in the founding a school chorus.
• Assisted in the development of a school song and chant.  
• Teamed with the School Community Council to create a Safe Neighborhood Access Plan for our school.
• Donated funds to assist in the development of our Music and PE departments.

What does PTA plan to do for our school this year?

• Continue all activities you have enjoyed in the past.
• Assist in the development of Mt. Mahogany’s First Annual 5K Community Fun Run on September 26th:  Rampage Race.
  
• Provide a bilingual specialist and PTA liaison to improve communication between parents, teachers, administrators and students.
• Launch a new PTA data reporting/information website www.justbetweenfriends.com

                                           What can you do for our PTA? 
Contribute to the strength of 137,000 members statewide advocating for the welfare of Utah’s children.  Learn about important issues affecting children in your community.  Be a voice for children by communicating with local and state decision makers.

• Join! Your dues help support all PTA and school activities (whether at school, home, or at your work place) that strengthen children and the family-school-community partnership.
• Share your time and talents! Become a PTA/parent volunteer to assist in various PTA programs and school/classroom activities available.
• Or pledge your support as a “silent member”.
• Encourage your spouse to join PTA!  PTA loves Mother’s and Father’s who take an active part in their children’s growth and development.

How do I join the PTA?
There are 2 easy steps:

1. Make checks payable to Mt. Mahogany Elementary PTA for per person/ a couple. You will individually be entered into a prize drawing on October 30th.
2. Turn in your payment in an envelope with your name(s), address, phone #, and email address listed to your child’s teacher or sign up at Open House or Back-to-School night. Be sure to list all your children and their teachers on the registration form, as classes are eligible to win a class party!

Need more reasons to join? Everyone who joins PTA receives some great membership incentives:

• Early-bird incentive: join at open house or at back-to-school night and receive free coupons and/or discounts from various local business merchants including Del Taco and Classic Skating.
