DAILY SCHEDULE
TUESDAY - FRIDAY
Legacy Elementary uses an extended day model for its instructional schedule. Students in first through sixth grade attend from either 8:00 a.m. – 2:15 or from 9:15 – a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Kindergarten students attend either a morning or afternoon kindergarten session. Please note: Students are NOT to arrive earlier that 10 minutes before their scheduled start time.
Students have the same core teacher throughout the day. Students also attend specialty classes that are rotated throughout the year. Specialty classes are taught for P.E., Health, Music, and Computers. The core teacher gives instruction in all other subjects. Each teacher has some students on the early start schedule and some on the late start schedule. The staggered schedules give teachers an opportunity to work with smaller groups of students at the beginning and end of each day. This time is used for literacy instruction.

EARLY OUT MONDAYS
Students will be dismissed one hour early every Monday. This does not affect total time in class. Schedules during the rest of the week have been altered to insure students continue to receive 990 hours of instruction as required by the state.
This change in schedule allows all schools in Alpine School District to pursue a philosophy of individual school improvement that is underscored by a collaborative culture focused on student learning. Professional Learning Communities focus upon three major questions: 1) What do we expect students to learn? 2) How will we know what students have learned? 3) How will we respond to students who aren’t learning?
Students are dismissed one hour early each Monday, enabling teacher teams to function in collaborative work. This alteration in schedule has been approved by the Board of Education and takes place in all schools in Alpine School District. Please note the adjusted Monday schedule below:
