ATTENDANCE (We miss you when you're absent!)

Students make the most progress when they attend school regularly. Please do not keep children out of school unless they are ill. Frequent absences from the classroom disrupt the learning processes of the student. The benefits of continuous instruction, once lost, are often difficult to regain.

Please schedule doctor, dentist and orthodontist appointments after school hours or on Saturdays if at all possible.

Please note the following guidelines:

  1. Students are expected to be to school on time.
  2. Students must come to school at their scheduled time each day. Please do not switch times on some days to accommodate your schedule.
  3. The main door and the office are open for parent use from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
  4. Parents are encouraged to notify the school prior to, or the morning of, their child's absence. Teachers will contact parents after three unexcused absences.
  5. Students may not leave the school campus during the day without notifying the office and following proper checkout procedures.
  6. Parents who check children out of school must sign a written release in the office. No one will be allowed to check out your child unless you have written his or her name on your Health Information form.
  7. If there is no emergency, please make arrangements before school if your child's after-school routine varies. We do not have the personnel to deliver messages during the day letting children know of a change in plans. It is also very disruptive to your child's classroom. Please come in and check out your child if you need to make alternative arrangements.
  8. Students will not be kept after school unless the teacher has notified parents.

DISCIPLINE (A positive, learning process!)

Fox Hollow Elementary School is committed to the development of a positive discipline system for the students. Discipline is used to avoid misbehavior. Children will be taught appropriate school behavior to help ensure the establishment of a positive productive environment. Our philosophy is to praise the positive while placing the responsibility for unacceptable behavior on the student. Ur goal is to teach our children to control their behavior and take responsibility for their actions. We recognize that discipline is a process, not an event.

General guidelines include:

  1. Fox Hollow students follow directions the first time they are given.
  2. Fox Hollow students keep hands, feet, and objects to him- or herself at all times.
