Alpine Online is K-8 school offered by Alpine School District for students who are primarily home schooled. The school’s goal is to provide support for the parent, who is the primary instructor of the student. Using a rigorous curriculum provided by K12.com, parents and students have access to a full set of core courses.
Alpine Online offers the following to families wishing to enroll:
- A certified teacher, who should be used as a resource and help in providing a rich and effective curriculum for the student.
- A full schedule of core classes with complete materials for the school year.
- A foreign language option through Rosetta Stone Online, with a number of languages to chose from.
- An option for Saxon math for interested parents.
- Regular field trips and activities for students and families.
- Access to the full use of the family’s neighborhood school media center in the Alpine School District – including checking out books.
Families wishing to enroll must agree to conform to the following requirements of the State of Utah and Alpine School District for public school students:
- 180 days of instruction over the school year.
- Participation in state testing requirements (Iowa Test for 3rd, 5th and 8th grade, CRT testing for grades 2-8, 3rd Grade reading assessment, and 6th Grade writing assessment).
- Documented progress through the coursework.
- Regular communication with the certified teacher
