The Alpine Instructional Media Center is comprised of a Professional Teaching Library and a Materials Preparation Lab. The AIMC facility and materials are available for school-related work by Alpine District employees.

 

1. Items Available at the Professional Teaching Library

  • Supplementary and adopted textbooks

  • Curriculum and reference materials

  • Current professional periodicals

  • Student literature and big books

 

2. Checking Out Library Materials

  • Materials in the Professional Library may be selected and checked out at the District Media Center in Lindon

  • Items may also be scheduled by phone or on-line. The procedure for scheduling a book or magazine is the same as that used to schedule other media materials. Please see "Media Circulation" for details.

  • Books in the Professional Library can be delivered to the school and returned to the Media Center with the daily Media Delivery

  • Reference assistance is available for the Professional Library. (Visit or call 717-4753 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM)

 

3. Materials Available in the Production Lab

  • Lamination -- including 18", 25", and 42" wide lamination; non-glare lamination; and various sizes of hard pouch lamination.
  • Die cuts -- including 4 alphabets; decorative and instructional dies; musical notations; borders; geometric shapes, math manipulatives; and 3-D dies
  • Binding equipment
  • Badge maker
  • Paper cutters, specialty staplers, and work supplies
  • Various paper products, markers, glue sticks, etc.
  • Black and white copier, color laser copier
  • 4. Production Lab Use Policy

  • The Production lab facilities are available for school-related work by Alpine District employees.  The lab should not be used for personal projects.
  • The Lab contains sharp, hot, and in other ways dangerous equipment. Small children should not be brought into this facility.
  • Students are generally not allowed to use the equipment in the Production Lab. Older students may use the lab on special occasions with prior approval.
  • With the exception of color copies, the Production lab is self-service. Users should expect to do their own work. Technical assistance is available.
  • No appointment is necessary to use the lab.
  • Teachers may send aides, PTA parents, family members or others to work in the lab for them if they find it difficult to make it over themselves.
  • Materials may be paid for with cash, check, or with a signed Supply Requisition from the school. No credit or debit cards will be accepted; the AIMC is not set up to take cards.
  • Some schools, departments, and individuals have set up accounts with the AIMC. A signed AIMC work order is needed to purchase materials using an account.
  • Individuals may bring their own paper into the lab to use the die cuts. There is no charge to use the die cuts.
